Migrate your Lightspeed gift cards to Shopify
Move your Lightspeed gift cards to Shopify with their balances and codes. Which export you use depends on your product: X-Series has a clean self-serve gift card report; R-Series is more manual.

Balances
Import each card’s current remaining balance, not its original value. The X-Series gift card report includes a balance column; delete any rows with a 0.00 balance before importing so you do not carry dead cards.
Codes
Lightspeed gift card codes carry over when they fit Shopify's 8 to 20 letters and numbers format. The X-Series export includes the codes directly.
Good to know
Lightspeed Retail comes in two products with different export maturity. X-Series (formerly Vend) has a clean gift card report export. R-Series (the legacy product) is more manual, and Lightspeed's own guidance routes R-Series merchants to X-Series first. Check which product you are on.
How the migration works
- 1Deactivate your gift cards in Lightspeed so they cannot be redeemed on both platforms.
- 2X-Series: go to Reporting, then Gift card reports, and choose Export report. The file includes codes, balances, statuses, and recipient emails.
- 3R-Series: view your cards under Customers, then Gift Cards. Export is more manual; see Lightspeed’s R-Series to X-Series material for the fallback path.
- 4Delete any rows with a 0.00 balance so you do not import dead cards.
- 5Import the file into BatchCard, mapping the code column and the balance column.
